Training and Resources
for Therapists
Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy
Training in EFT is available from Tulane University in New Orleans. This is a huge opportunity for Mississippi therapists for the following reasons:
-
LOCATION: training in EFT condoned by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) is only available in select locations. Because of the vision and effort of a few dedicated individuals at the Porter-Cason Institute for the Family at the Tulane University School of Social Work, one of those locations is now New Orleans.
-
TALENT: EFT training at Tulane is provided by a team of ICEEFT-qualified EFT supervisors lead by George Faller, founder and president of the New York Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy. Not only is George an awesome trainer, but his team is an assembly of experienced and creative EFT practitioners from many different locations around the country.
-
COST: In order to stimulate the creation of a substantial EFT community in the deep South to serve specific populations, the Porter-Cason Institute for the Family tries to subsidized the training. As long as grant money is found for this purpose, cost to qualifying trainees will be less than what the training generally costs.
-
CEU's: Participants receive ceu's from Tulane University for the training.
The next EFT externship begins in January 2016. Click here for more information on that externship or contact Bonnie Lister at (504) 865-5314 or blrl@tulane.edu.
